What white/ dessert wines to buy in Paris, France?

I’m after something a little unique (or not frequently exported) as gifts.

After any dessert wines, and mainly sauvignons. Thanks!

Sauvignon Blanc is grown in Bordeaux* where it makes dry whites and fantastic extremely sweet dessert wines in Barsac and Sauternes.

I am not sure about finding ones not exported. Both types are exported around the world, however you may find wine from a small winery that doesn’t export.

Paris is not in a wine growing region, the closest to it is Champagne. Best to ask advice in a decent wine shop.

Remember that you will have to pack any wines (and other liquids) in your checked in baggage; no liquids in comtainiers larger than 100ml are allowed in hand baggage. So you should bring some bubble wrap to protect your wine in your cases.

*French wine law restricts the regions in which grape varieties may be grwon, so you won’t find Sauvignon Blanc – for example – from Burgundy. Bordeaux is its home but you’ll find more famous wine from the Loire under the name Pouilly Fume
